However for someone like me who's suffered for 3 decades with depression I feel the need to write about this subject now being in recovery and living the life I truly wanted to love on my heart path now as a hypnotherapist and yoga teacher.
So how does it really feel to be truly depressed and not just temporarily sad or upset?
The following identifies what depression has looked like on my journey:-
1. There is a complete loss of enthusiasm and motivation for life and the day to day activities of living.
2. A loss of enjoyment and pleasure.
3. A constant heavy sadness deep in your belly.
4. Self neglect at loss of wanting to clean one's body and groom.
5. Withdrawal from the world and friends.
6. No desire to get out of bed each day and often sleeping in until gone midday.
7. No desire to exercise anymore or move the body.
8. Loss of appetite and no desire to cook nice or healthy food but instead survive of whatever food you can place your hands on that is typically classes as unhealthy.
9. Complete loss of sex drive with no desire for intimacy with your partner.
10. Loss of communication skills and difficulty talking to others and withdrawal from social events due to levels of social anxiety as confidence and self esteem is at rock bottom.
11. Problems with work and holding down employment due to all of the above.
